

Kenneth Wayne Elliott passed away on November 5th, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Hospital due to complications from pancreatic cancer. He was born in Houston, TX on September 6, 1953 to Max and Frances Elliott. Ken lived a full life of humor, integrity, and devotion to his work, community, and family. Everyone who knew him will remember his uplifting laugh and smile and his good cheer. He earned a Bachelors of Arts with Honors in economics with minors in political science and history at the University of Oklahoma; he went on to earn his J. D. with honors also at OU. Dedicated to the law, Ken led a thriving law practice, Elliott and Pederson. He also served on the Oklahoma Ethics Commission for 10 years, and he served on the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws for 11 years. A leader in his community, Ken was a long-standing member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City, where he served as Elder and President of the Congregation. He was on the Variety Health Center board of directors for nine years and served as president of the board in 1990. He was also active in the United Way. Ken was devoted to his family. He married Christy Gelmers on May 21, 1977. They were proud parents of two sons, Steven and Robert. Ken dedicatedly supported his wife Christy through a 10-year fight with breast cancer. Christy passed in 2005. Ken married Jeannie Bryngelson-Witzel on March 9, 2007. Ken was survived by his sons; Steven and Robert; his wife, Jeannie; step-children: Kevin Witzel and his wife Kendyl, Kara Witzel-Dodson and her husband Matt, and Kyle Witzel; his folks, Andy and Frances Anderson; his brother Don; and grandchildren: Savannah, Caleb, Kaden, Chase, and Owen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christy, his father, Max, and his brother, Brian. Ken Elliott leaves this world having been an example of how to live life to the fullest and how to serve with dedication and passion. His memories and legacy will live on through those he loved and those who loved him deeply in return. Memorial services will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church at 10:00AM on November 8, 2010.
