Kenneth graduated from Comanche High School in 1956, then married Linda G. Coffman on June 29th, 1957. They made their home in Duncan, Oklahoma for 10½ years before moving to Ardmore. He was a member of the Oklahoma National Guard in the
1950’s & 60’s, having left the Guard at the rank of Sgt. First Class. He spent his working career in the retail lumber business, retiring in 2005 after 35 years, with the last 26 years in management.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, John & Cleo Mathes, and his brother, Joe Mathes, all of Comanche, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife, Linda of Ardmore; one sister, Christine Wampler, of Duncan; his only son, Randy Mathes and his wife, Lisa, and 3 grandsons, Jacob Mathes, Josh Mathes & granddaughter Sawyer, and Jerry Mathes, all of Oklahoma City.
A private graveside memorial service was conducted for the family. Kenneth was laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore, Oklahoma.
