Larry Don Danley

Larry Don Danley, of Tuttle, OK, passed from this life on September 30, 2019 at the age of 58. Services have been entrusted to the care of Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services located at 7720 S. Pennsylvania Ave. in Oklahoma City. A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at 11am on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019 at the funeral home.

Larry was born on October 1, 1960 in Dumas, TX to Gerald Wayne and Freda Rae (Roberts) Danley. He graduated from Turpin High School with the class of 1978 before attending Oklahoma State University where he attained his Bachelor of Science in Technology. After school he went to work for DonCo, and it was here that he met the love of his life, Aleta Joy Duzan, and the two were married in 1985. He is the proud father of three children: Brian, Stephanie and Christopher. Larry and Aleta worked at DonCo until 1990 when they moved their family to Houston, TX for one year and then on to Arizona where Larry began working for Swift Transportation. In 2005, they moved to Georgia for two years before finally making their way back to Oklahoma where they made their home and remained ever since. Larry worked for Swift Transportation until 2016 when his health would no longer allow it, and it was here that he made many wonderful friends.

Larry was a man of many interests and talents and was even an Eagle Scout as a young man. He was an avid golfer and OSU fan. He enjoyed woodworking and was known to make beautiful pieces of furniture. He was athletic and enjoyed playing many different sports. He also cherished animals and was drawn to them since he was a young boy, and he especially loved his own dogs, Spot in particular.

Larry will be remembered as an easy-going, calm and understanding man who adored life, but above all else, treasured his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gerry Danley.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Aleta Danley; children: Brian Danley and wife Amber, Stephanie Patrick, and Christopher Danley; sister, Paula Stein and husband Rance; and grandchildren: Travis Danley, Wyatt Danley, Caleb Patrick, Kelsi Danley and Gabbi Patrick.

Larry’s family has kindly requested that everyone please wear orange or black to Larry’s Celebration of Life to honor his alma mater, OSU.
