Larry Joe McVicker was born in Hennessey Oklahoma to his parents Francis William McVicker Sr. and Genevieve Ethel Massingill McVicker. Larry lived with his family during World War II at the naval base in San Diego. After the war ended, they moved back to Hennessey where he attended grade school through 4th grade when they moved to a farm in Crescent. He attended Crescent school through 11th grade. He entered the U.S. Army 2 weeks after his 17th birthday. He served a 3 year tour in Germany after basic training and earned his GED during that time. After discharge he attended OSU School of Technology and earned a degree in Industrial Electricity. Larry worked for Western Farmers Electric Corp Local 1141 Electricians for 11 years before opening his own electrical contracting business which he and his wife operated for 25 years before retiring in 2001.
Preceding Larry in death are his parents, step daughter Sherri Richardson, his brother Richard Leon and brother Francis William Jr and his wife of 54 years Carolyn Sue.
He is survived by his wife Kim Louise, sons Eric Joseph and Steven Jerome, step daughter Rachael Elizabeth, sister Beverly Joyce, sister-in-law Elizabeth McVicker, granddaughter Taylor and grandson Michael and many more great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Larry loved music, traveling, golf, fishing, playing dominoes but most of all he loved God, his family, friends and country.
A visitation for Larry will be held Friday, October 3, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73162. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
Larry will be laid to rest in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 8701 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73162.
