Laura Jane Peyton (Janey)

Laura Jane Peyton (Janey) passed away October 20, 2023, in Rockwall, Texas. She was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on September 28, 1981. She attended John Carroll, Heritage Hall, graduated from Bishop McGuinness High School and went on to receive her BA degree from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.

Laura (or Janey to her friends) loved to laugh. She was an athlete, an actress, a comedian, a dancer, a performer and a friend of many. She was sweet, kind, fun, and fun to be with. She loved swimming, snow skiing, water skiing, basketball, field hockey, running, softball, winning, movies, cooking and her dogs, Lula and Tilla. She battled with depression and addiction from an early age and ultimately lost. We feel so fortunate to have shared her life.

She is preceded in death by her father, Dr. Marvin D. Peyton, OKC, Aunt and Uncle, Jim and Leta McLemore, Monroe, Louisiana, Aunt Juanita Probasco, Cushing, OK, Grandparents Sim and Ruby Peyton, Cushing, OK, and Billy and Sara Fox, Bartlesville, OK.

She is survived by her mother Sandra Peyton, OKC, brothers Dr. Marvin Lane Peyton, OKC, and Tyler Fox Peyton, OKC, nephew Carter Fox Peyton, OKC, niece Clara Lane Peyton, OKC, Aunts Susan Creekmore (Joe), Dallas, TX, Vicci Lu Fox, Tucson, AZ, long-time companion Brett Boog-Scott, Richardson, TX, and many cousins and their children.

Laura was the light of our lives and will be profoundly missed. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 4th at 11:00 am at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 222 NW 15th Street, OKC.
