Born on August 5, 1955, to Patricia Lee Johnston Turner and Roy Osborn Turner, both of Oklahoma City. Leslie dedicated her life passionately in everything that she did. For 30 years, she designed and crafted ribbons, rosettes, and badges for AKC dog shows nationwide. She was hardworking, brilliantly creative, and someone you could always count on.
She was also an accomplished league player with the APA, qualifying with her teams to compete at the national finals in Las Vegas several times. Her teammates affectionately called her “Seven Slayer” and nominated her MVP numerous times in recognition of her consistency, determination, and skill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Patricia Johnston Turner (1986) and Roy Osborn Turner (2015); her sister, Donna Sue Turner (2014); and her former husband, Gary Marshall Sullenger (2017).
Cherishing her memory are her sister, Mary Turner Garza and husband Lance Garza; her daughter, Catherine Sullenger Stevens; her daughter, Teresa Sullenger Steed and partner Holli Short; her granddaughter, Sadie Steed Bruce and husband Josh Bruce; her granddaughter, Lily Steed Cole; and her great-grandson, Kooper Cole. She will also be greatly missed by many friends, teammates, and colleagues alike.
A private family gathering will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens.
