Linda Williams McCurry was born on July 7, 1944 in Dalhart, TX to Willie and Lula (Ellison) McCurry. She was raised and educated in Texas. In the early 1960’s she married James Don Wickersham and they would go on to have three wonderful children: Dana, Buddy, and Brent. The family resided in both New Diana, TX and Bedford, TX before moving to Oklahoma in the 1983. Linda managed a local Del Rancho restaurant for several years. She later accepted a District Manager position with Curt’s Oil Company where she worked until her retirement in the early 1990’s. In 1997, Linda married Alton Sikes and the two spent nearly a decade together before his passing in 2006.
Linda was a kind and easy-going lady who also had an ornery streak. She never missed a chance to pull a prank on her kids and grandkids. She loved having fun and making those around her smile. She was fiercely independent and she was meticulous when it came to things like her yard and garden. Linda enjoyed collecting alligators, geo-caching, and quilting. Whether it was hosting parties on the Fourth of July or taking her grandkids to Granny Camp, Linda was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. Linda Sikes made a lasting impression on those around her and she will certainly be missed by all who knew her.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents: Willie and Lula McCurry; three brothers: John McCurry, Dorman McCurry, and Winford McCurry. She is survived by her three children: Dana Marsh with boyfriend Ernie Campbell, Theron “Buddy” Wickersham and wife Jamie, and Brent Wickersham and wife Kim; four grandchildren: Brandon Wickersham, Shane Smith, Captain Trent Marsh and Kassidy Wickersham; five great grandchildren: Bentley Wickersham, Mickala Smith, Myri Smith, Eastyn Smith, and Atticus Smith. She was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members.
