VAUGHN, Lindsay Randell, 72, died Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at his home in Oklahoma City, OK. He was lovingly cared and supported by his daughter and her family in the last years as he navigated complex health issues. He loved nothing more than being with his family, becoming very close and spending as much time as possible with his daughters and grandchildren. He found joy and laughed often when reminiscing about his youth and many life adventures. On weekends, you'd either find him decked out in Aggie gear yelling GigEm! with a thumbs up or at his church praising Jesus and enjoying fellowship. His presence and his voice will be greatly missed.
Lindsay was born on December 27, 1952, in Houston, TX, the second child of Henry Lowell and Betty Knoll Vaughn. He had an older sister, Linda and a younger brother, David. After moving to Dallas in 1957, he resided in Lake Highlands area attending first through ninth grades while there. After a move in November 1969 to Lake Ray Hubbard in Rowlett, TX, he attended South Garland High School graduating in 1971. He excelled at football, basketball, and baseball while attending school. Then he was off to Aggieland/College Station graduating in 1975 with a degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M University. Early in his career, he was a district manager for Firestone Tire and Rubber in Dallas and Houston areas. Eventually ending up in Oklahoma after a transfer while still with Firestone. When he retired from Firestone, he spent time with Diffee Auto Sales in El Reno, OK. His final “career” and for the past 18 years, he has been a devoted father to two daughters, DeAnn and Lora, and a doting grandfather to ten grandchildren.
Always gregarious and outgoing, he acquired many lifelong friends over the years and enjoyed reuniting whenever the opportunity arose. A long time member of Epicenter Church, he rarely missed a Sunday service. His spiritual family extended beyond the church, as he joined in fellowship with his BSF mens group, who lovingly brought kindness and brotherhood to his home in his final month on Earth. Lindsay suffered a lot of pain, but always kept a positive attitude and never failed to say a prayer for whoever was in need, no matter the situation. He was known to take prayer requests from a random person at the store or his doctors and hospital staff often.
He is survived by his daughters: DeAnn Vaughn Dale and her husband, Jeremy Dale of Oklahoma City, OK, and Lora Vaughn, Tulsa, OK. His sister: Linda Walker and her husband, Gary of Dallas, TX. His brother: David Vaughn and his wife, Betty of Hot Springs Village, AR. His nephews: Jake Vaughn, Garland, TX and Chase Brown, Hot Springs Village, AR and his grandchildren: Orin Borjas, Lorelai Borjas and Laela Borjas, Johnny Safarik and Willie Safarik, and Kylie Dale, Nathan Dale, Hudson Dale, Conor Dale and Rhys Dale of Oklahoma City, OK.
In lieu of flowers, your presence or a donation to the grandchildren’s education fund will be appreciated.
"Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!" Matthew 25:23
