Lisa Vaughn was voted the “happiest person in the room” by her classmates. Lisa brought the spark to the party and never met a stranger. She liked it best when her house was full of family and friends.
Lisa Pace Vaughn was born on July 24, 1957 in Muskogee, OK. She passed away on August 13, 2024 at her home. Lisa is survived by her husband Tony Vaughn; son, Nick Vaughn and spouse Carrie Vaughn; daughter, Ashley White and spouse Josh White; four grandkids, Charlotte White, Henry White, Olive Vaughn and Lewis Vaughn; brother, Mike Pace and spouse Connie Pace; brother in-law, Terry Vaughn and spouse Ira Rubenstein; nieces Leslie Dickinson, Christie Sweeney and Lisa Kaye Davis; and nephews Tom Pace and Lance Thompson; and sister Judy Pace Utt. Lisa was predeceased by her parents, Harold Pace and Betty Pace; and parent in-laws, Lewis Vaughn and LoDema Vaughn.
Lisa’s love for her family and friends was unwavering and unconditional. She married her high school sweetheart, Tony Vaughn, and they just celebrated 49 years of marriage together. You rarely saw one without the other. Lisa was the most incredible Mother to her two kids; Nick and Ashley. She would often confess the most fun times of her life was when it was just the three of them. Lisa treated the eight out of state moves into true adventures with her kids that all three would always remember and laugh about. Her loved shined brightest as a Grandmother to her four grandchildren. In true Lisa fashion she claimed the name “Beanie” as her Grandma name after reading the local obituaries. Her grandkids are the greatest credit to her legacy. Lisa was always thankful for the relationships with her brother Mike, nephew Lance, and brother in-laws Terry and Ira. Lisa was blessed to have such good friends who always stood by her side.
She was a fierce advocate of the underdog. She volunteered at an AIDs clinic, shelters for abused women, Special Olympics, the St. Anthony Foundation and many others. Most times she would have both kids in tow to make a statement they are no different than the kids she is serving.
Her family will always remember her for her unique ability to call the game of bingo as Madge, spot on impersonations, wicked sense of humor and take charge attitude.
In lieu of flowers Lisa would love to encourage donations to the Saint Anthony Foundation here in Oklahoma City. The family has a celebration of life planned for Lisa on October 3. More details to follow. Lisa made a positive impact to many of us and would love for you to find ways to do that for others.
