Livinus Onwuchuruba

It is with profound sadness that we announce the transition of our loved one Livinus Chidi Onwuchuruba (Levi) Ide Nwachinyereugo to Heaven after a prolonged illness, 1958-2025. He passed on October 13, 2025, surrounded by family and friends after receiving the anointing of the sick as a devout man of faith. Levi was born on February 19th, 1958, in Omoku, Nigeria. He was the youngest child of Stephen and Philomena Onwuchuruba. Levi was a man of principles, benevolence, lover of music, loved his Oklahoma Sooners on Saturdays, Dallas Cowboys on Sundays, and the Oklahoma City Thunder. He was a certified public accountant and retired from the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission after 30 years of service to the State of Oklahoma as the Chief Financial Officer. He was a philanthropist who founded the Onwuchuruba foundation that awards scholarships to the less fortunate, youth empowerment, various projects at SS Peter and Paul Church, and a pillar of his community. Levi had a good head on his shoulders and an unwavering will. He was always under control, even when under heavy pressure. He was a role model for all of us about what we should strive to be. Levi was a husband, father, uncle, friend, and survived by his wife of over four decades Elizabeth (Liz), 3 children Dr. Cheryl, Daryl, and Michael, two sisters Maria and Comfort, extended relatives and friends. A visitation will be held at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper, located at 6600 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City, OK, 73116, on November 21, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A Wake Service will follow at the same location starting at 6:00 pm.

Please wear black clothing to the funeral mass scheduled for November 22, 2025, at 1:00 pm at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 900 S Littler Ave, Edmond, OK, 73034.

A Celebration of Life for Levi will immediately follow the funeral mass. It will be held at Oklahoma City Convention Center, 100 Mick Cornett Dr. Oklahoma City, OK 73109.
