Lois Ann Clark

Lois Ann Clark, died peacefully on July 31, 2026, at the age of 99 in Oklahoma City. She was one of two daughters, born to Sylvester J. and Ann E. (Bonadurer) Thompson on January 29,1927 in Lacrosse, Wisconsin.

After Lois graduated high school, she was bound and determined to make it to California, but she only got as far as Oklahoma City. She created a life for herself here; working for Sears Roebuck and Chris Well Oil Company before she got married and had two twin girls; Sally and Susan Stephens. She then met her late husband, Allan, at Parents Without Partners and he had two sons; Bruce and Doug Ruby. Lois and Allan loved to play cards, were active members at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and loved to travel all over the world.

Lois was full of personality, wit and charm. She could talk to anyone as if she had known you for years and was never afraid to ask too many “personal” questions. She was the steady presence in our family, making birthdays and holidays extra special. She was an amazing host preparing any meal or dessert you asked for, would get down on her hands and knees to play with the grandkids, great grandkids, she was always eager to be involved and taught us all so much. She was a great source of strength, support, and showed her love through countless acts of kindness, sacrifice and devotion. While our hearts are broken by her absence, we find comfort knowing that she is finally home, where so many others have been waiting for her.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Sally Dayton, daughter, Sally Grimes, grandson, Michael Gilliam and her husband, Allan Clark. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Gilliam (Dwain) of Clemmons, N.C., two bonus sons; Bruce Ruby of Tulsa, OK, and Douglas Ruby (Maura) of New Fairfield, CT. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Dr. Ryan Gilliam (Mary) of Advance, N.C., Stephanie Jenkins (Brandon) of Oklahoma City, OK, Morgan Fusco (Spencer) of New Fairfield, CT, and Eileen Ruby of New Fairfield, CT. Lois is also survived by 4 great grandchildren, two nephews, and many cousins.

Graveside Services will be held 10:30 am, Friday, August 7, 2026 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 8701 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73162.
