

Born on May 14, 1916 in Mangum, Oklahoma, Pearl was an avid sports fan since playing two-on-two-on-two basketball in high school with the court divided into three sections. Pearl graduated from Mangum High School in 1934 and then worked at the Mangum Hotel before moving to Oklahoma City to attend Business College. She married Elden Glenn Ashmore of Farlin, Iowa on August 11, 1950. A forty year member of Linwood Methodist Church, Pearl was a member of the Builder Class.
After working at Raskins Jewelers in the Colcord Building, Pearl worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for thirty-six years, retiring in 1978. After retiring from the phone company, she began her second career working in the Dental Depot business office for the next twenty-five years.
Pearl is preceded in death by her husband, Elden; her parents, Jack and Laura Willis of Willow, Oklahoma; brothers, Gervis and Bernie; and sisters, Irene, Bessie, and Sybil. Pearl is survived by her son, Glenn Allan and his wife, Arlene; grandchildren Casey Ashmore and his wife, Nicole, and Cody Dunnington and her husband Jeremy; and great-grandchildren, Glenn “Nathan” and Lola Isabel Ashmore, and Clayton Lane and Canyon Pearl Dunnington.
Nothing gave Pearl greater joy than watching Oklahoma University football and basketball and spending time with her family. Even in her last days, she was cheering for the Thunder.
The family will be hosting a viewing at the Hahn-Cook Funeral Home at 6600 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73116, on Wednesday, March 6 from 6:00-8:00pm. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 7 at Hahn-Cook at 2:00pm.
