

Lora K. Barnett, 88 year-old resident of the Choctaw/Sparks area, passed away on March 17, 2014. Born August 12, 1925 in Noble, Oklahoma she was the daughter of Cecil C. and Bessie Irene (Tarbet) King. Lora was an avid gardener who loved to work in her vegetable garden, flower beds and took pride in tending to her roses. She also loved her evening drives with her husband; cooking family dinners; Sonic date night with her husband; dogs; raising cattle; reading romance novels, playing games, and selflessly helping those in need. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 67 years, Calvin Barnett; 1 sister, Lola; and 1 brother, William “Sonny” King. Survivors include 3 sons, Larry and his wife Alberta Barnett of Choctaw, Oklahoma; Tommy Lee Barnett of Sparks, Oklahoma; and David Lynn Barnett of Midwest City, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren, Tammy Sue Barnett Anderson; David Kyle Barnett; Jennifer Lynn Huffman; and Ashley Barnett Cole; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Lee and Daisy; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel, 8805 NE 23rd St.; Oklahoma City, OK, 73141 with Pastor Chris Muse officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, Oklahoma.
