Lorena Bird Clampitt

Lorena Bird Clampitt, 94 year-old resident of Midwest City, Oklahoma, passed away March 18, 2016 at her home. Born June 30, 1921 in Dale, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of George David Bird and Margaret K. (Stinson) Bird. Lorena was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Midwest City, Oklahoma. She was active in politics for her beloved Republican party. Lorena enjoyed reading mystery novels and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren to whom she was a beloved Grandmother. A naturally caring person she “Worried” about everyone’s troubles and misfortunes. Lorena was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Lowell Clampitt in 1996; 1 daughter, Margaret Kathleen Morris; and 1 brother, George David Bird. Survivors include 1 son, David Clampitt and his wife Laura of Midwest City, Oklahoma; 1 daughter, Janice Porter of Midwest City, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, John and his wife Margaret Bird of McLoud, Oklahoma; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel, 8805 NE 23rd St., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73141 with burial to follow in Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, Oklahoma.
