Lou Mae Miller, 81, was surrounded by family when she left this earth to return home on Monday, January 17, 2022 in Oklahoma City, OK. Lou was born on November 21, 1940 to parents Charles and Opal Lents in Clinton, OK.
She was a graduate of N.W. Classen High School, Class of 1958. After high school, Lou was the owner of Commercial Press, Inc., a local printing company, before she found her true passion in teaching/hosting mother’s day out for numerous churches in the Oklahoma City metro area.
Lou married Karl on July 22, 2007, and together walked hand in hand through life for the last 14 years. They attended Lou’s favorite country, rock and gospel concerts. She often loved to swim at the community pool, cook, and watch Wheel of Fortune daily. Dancing was also a huge part of Lou’s life. She was an extremely talented square dancer and clogger. For many years, Lou was a member of the Circle 8 Square Dancing Club. Lou’s faith was also important to her, as she and Karl were both strong members of the New Church.
She was a loving wife, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. Her legacy of teaching her family to give selflessly to others will be carried out with generations to come.
Lou is preceded in death by her father, Charles Deward Lents; mother, Opal Mae (Williams) Lents; son, Wesley “Dean” Winford, and sister, Kay (Lents) Eberhart.
She is survived by husband, Karl Lee Miller of Edmond, OK; daughter, Lisa Winford Schmitz and husband, Mike of Guthrie, OK; Ann (Lents) Gagliardi of Edmond, OK; and daughter-in-law, Teresa Winford of Las Vegas, NV. Lou also leaves behind 3 grandchildren, Wesley Johnson, Daniel Schmitz, and Michael Schmitz; 2 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, January 21, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 N.W. Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73162. The funeral service in honor of Lou will take place on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, with Pastor Monty Priest of New Church to officiate. Interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
