Luella Mae Brooks
February 24, 1938 – November 22, 2021
On November 22, 2021, Luella Mae Brooks, was surrounded by loved ones and peacefully passed away. Her mind is now at peace.
Luella was born February 24, 1938 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Robert and Wilma (Smoot) Phillips. She attended and graduated Northwest Classen High School in 1956.
She married Bobby Dean Brooks April 4, 1970 and they both worked at Tinker Air Force Base. They were members of First Methodist Church, McLoud, OK and were active in the Kiwanis Club. Luella enjoyed crafts of all kinds including ceramics and painting. After Bob passed away, Lue went on cruises with her girlfriends and they had lots of laughs and good times together.
She had a strong bond with her grandchildren; she was their Emaw. She baked sweets every week and on Monday mornings, you could count on her to show up with them in hand for a visit. These visits and all the fun times are missed.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bobby Dean Brooks, daughter Cheryl Smith and her brother Robert Earl Phillips.
She leaves to carry on her legacy her daughter Cindy Ledbetter and husband David; grandchildren Josh Laws and wife Katie, Breonna Coleman and husband Jeremy, Kaelah Sherman and husband Dylan, Cassady Wank and husband Michael, numerous great grandchildren and many friends who will miss her.
A graveside service to celebrate her life will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
