Luke was born on June 26, 1980 in OKC to Rex and Darlene Farrington. He attended schools in Bridge Creek, graduating from Bridge Creek High School in 1998. While in school Luke loved participating in baseball, football, choir and drama. He later attended MetroTech where he earned a degree in technology and website engineering. In 2004 he married Jennifer Barker and welcomed her son Christopher into his family and loved him like he was his own child. Luke and Jennifer had two children together: Kaylee’ and Adam Farrington.
Luke spent several years working at Newcastle Casino, where he worked as a poker and blackjack dealer. He used the experience that he gained to start dealing private parties before his health issues forced him to retire in 2017. Luke was a competitive guy who was passionate about sports. He enjoyed playing softball, fantasy football, video games, watching WWE, and supporting the Sooners, Dallas Cowboys, and OKC Thunder. He loved his animals, watching movies with his friends and family and was a talented artist. Luke was never happier than when he was around his three kids and he was very proud to be their dad. Luke loved his life and fought hard until the very end to remain here with his family. He made an impact on the lives of those around him with his contagious smile and quick wit. Luke packed more memories into his short 37 years than some do in 100 years. Luke’s tenacity and desire to fight through the struggles that he endured served as a source of inspiration for all who knew him.
Luke was preceded in death by his brother Micah Farrington in 1995. He is survived by his parents: Rex and Darlene Farrington; three children: Christopher Simmons, Kaylee’ Farrington, and Adam Farrington; two siblings: Rachel Hall-Wortham and husband Geremy, Jacob Farrington and wife Theresa. He is also survived by his honorary brother Russell Menefee, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
