Marcia Nilsen Anderson

Marcia Jane Anderson, 75, died peacefully after a brief illness on February 26, 2026. She was born on October 31, 1950, to the late Carl A. Nilsen and Georgeann Nilsen. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Dr. Lanny G. Anderson.

Marcia is survived by her daughter Laurie Anderson-Pitsiri and her wife Lisa Anderson-Pitsiri and her two grandchildren Emersen Grace Anderson and Cooper Tucker Anderson; her beloved sister Anne Kelly; her nephew Ryan Kelly, his wife James and their daughter Sylvia; her niece Rachael Kelly and her children Georgia, Carl, Owen and Jack; her nephew Drew Kelly; and her constant companion LuLu.

Marcia helped countless people as a practicing therapist for many years and took great pride in her work. She loved spending time with her daughter and grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. She also delighted in often beating her daughter-in-law Lisa in Gin Rummy.

She enjoyed working in the yard and had an extraordinary green thumb. She especially loved animals and had a very compassionate heart for all creatures. Marcia had a deep interest and love of butterflies and loved spending her time photographing them.

Marcia was generous and thoughtful and will be deeply missed. Her wish was that when you see a butterfly you think of her. Her family will hold a private service to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Nexus Pets, PO Box 54572, Oklahoma City, OK 73154, nexuspets.org.
