Margaret Judith Marchant

Margaret J. Marchant was born on April 3rd, 1945 to Wilber and Dorothy Nissen in Waterloo Iowa, and passed on August 16th, 2026 in Oklahoma City. Margaret was raised in Iowa before moving to Seattle Washington where she obtained her baccalaureate in Architecture and Urban Planning degree from the University of Washington. Margaret went on to obtain her real estate license and sold real estate in and around Seattle for many years. Margaret then returned to work for her Alma Mater, the University of Washington where she was the Assistant to the Chairman of Family Medicine.

It was in Seattle where Margaret met her husband, William “Dan” Marchant. They were married in a small ceremony in a small suburb of Seattle with the key people in both of their lives present, to include Dan’s two children, William D. Marchant Jr., and Danielle Marchant.

Margaret and Dan were truly in love and best of all, they were friends. There were ups and downs, as in any close relationship, but the love and friendship they had towards each other was something special. Margaret loved to see the sights in and around Seattle and who better to accompany her than her best friend.

Margaret and Dan moved to Oklahoma where Margaret began working for Lab Corp and Dianon, and managed daily operations for 28 years and helped build the company to what it is today.

Margaret was fun. That word seems plain, but I assure you, Margaret was not plain. With her bright blue eyes, blond hair, and Danish heritage, Margaret was a force to be reckoned with; she was feisty, intelligent, opinionated, and independent. Qualities she shared with Dan. Margaret was the perfect companion, friend and wife. She and Dan shared many adventures, road trips and some of the best companionship any person could wish for. Margaret was more than a wife, more than a sister and more than an aunt; Margaret was a best friend, and she will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband, William Daniel Marchant of Oklahoma City, Sister Patty Hermansen of Naples, Florida and nieces Keevan Kosidowski and her Husband, Mike of Eagan, MN. and Penny Larson and Husband Dave Rohde of Cedar Falls.

A Memorial Service will be held at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper, 6600 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City, OK 731161298, US, on August 21, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
