

Marguerite Maness Rechenberg was born to Robert Lyle and Chloe Barron Maness on Jan 14, 1915 in Ripley, TN. She died in Okla City on August 24, 2010 at the age of 95. Her early childhood was spent in Jackson, TN. and she moved with her family to Okla City in 1927. She graduated from Classen High School in 1932. Marguerite was employed in the federal civil service for the U.S. Navy Department for over 50 years. She worked at the Naval Air Propulsion Center, Trenton N.J. and retired as Administrative Assistant at the Naval Air Station, Lakehurst, N.J. Marguerite married her beloved husband, Paul K. Rechenberg, in 1948 and they made their home in Trenton, N.J. for 38 years. They moved to Jensen Beach, FL in 1986 to enjoy their retirement years. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 1998. After Paul’s death in 1999, she continued to live in FL until 2005 when she moved back to Okla City to be near family. She was a resident of the Statesman Club. Marguerite was a member of the Musician’s Union, Local No. 62 in Trenton, NJ. She was a pianist extraordinaire and happiest when she was entertaining. She played in clubs and restaurants throughout Trenton and Atlantic City for many years. Most recently, she enjoyed entertaining the residents of the Statesman Club which she continued up until 3 weeks prior to her death. At 95, her musical memory and repertoire of songs was amazing. She is survived by two stepsons, Paul of Chaddsford, PA and Charles Rechenberg of Toms River, NJ, two nephews, Robert J. Maness of Okla City and Marvin of Guthrie, OK, 8 grandsons, 14 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild all located throughout PA and NJ, numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews in Okla City. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, her brother, Maurice Maness and her only granddaughter, Cheryl Rechenberg. The family would like to thank Marguerite’s caregiver, Pat Lottie, whose compassion and care will always be much appreciated. The family would also like to thank the Statesman Club’s staff and residents, the Oklahoma Heart Hospital, Bellevue Nursing and Centennial Hospice for their kindness, care and support of Marguerite. Services will be held on Friday, August 27 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel. Burial will be at Rose Hill Burial Park on Sat. August 28, at 2:00 p.m.
