Most importantly while attending OU she met the love of her life, Robert Day “Bob” Simmons, whom she married in June of 1952 beginning their twenty-five years of marriage. That same year, Bob entered the US Airforce and became an aviator with the rank of Lieutenant at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas.
In 1954, their first child Steven Kelly was born with Margaret Susan “Margo” and Clayton Thomas following in 1957 and 1959 respectively. Each loved their mother dearly and survive today.
