Marion Allen

Marion Allen, 91 year-old resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away September 20, 2013 in Harrah, Oklahoma. Born March 30, 1922 in Kiefer, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Dewey Colen Cox and Oma Lee (Whitmire) Cox. Marion was a longtime resident of the Oklahoma City area and was a homemaker. She loved gardening and tending to her flower beds. Marion was active in helping children, she taught Sunday School, read from her Bible all the time; helped with Children’s Church, and loved using puppets to help children. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Leroy Allen in April of 2008. Survivors include four daughters, Catherine and her husband Wyman Pylant of Mission, Texas; Barbara and her husband Bill Filler of Choctaw, Oklahoma; Charlotte and her husband Richard Cowey of Carmel, Indiana; and Susanna and her husband Brent Ericson of Guthrie, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Arlington Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 3400 N. Midwest Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73141 with entombment to follow her services at Arlington Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
