

Marion Czako Stewart died suddenly and peacefully at 4:30 pm, 4 March 2017, in Phoenix, Arizona. She was 92 years old. She is survived by her five children, nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and an older sister in Diessen, Germany. Her husband, Charles Edwin Stewart, preceded her in death by 25 years. At the time he died, Marion and Charles had been married 44 years. Marion met Charles in Europe during WWII; and Charles brought Marion to America in 1948, the year they were married. Marion lived in Oklahoma City until 2013, when she moved to Arizona to be closer to her children. Marion was known for her social graces, interests in crafts and photography, playing the piano, bird watching with the Audubon Society, philanthropy to Oklahoma Catholic institutions and Oklahoma State University, but mostly for her abilities as a mother to her children and as a wife to her husband. She was also known to have voted for both Ross Perot and for Barack Obama. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 18th, 2017, at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Oklahoma City beginning at 9 AM. A graveside service will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park, 6001 Grand Boulevard, also in Oklahoma City. Marion loved flowers. However, donations on behalf of Marion C. Stewart to the Alzheimer’s Association via www.alz.org or by mail to their national office will be greatly appreciated.
