

Marjorie Pauline “Marg” Durham, our sweet and loving Mother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 9, 2014. She was a long time resident of Midwest City, OK. She started her journey in life on August 15, 1926 to Flossie and Paul Woods in Shelbyville, IL. She met and later married the love of her life, Don Durham on June 1, 1947. They were blessed with two sons, Philip and Dana. As a military family, they lived in many locations around the country, as well as Okinawa, Japan. They finally were stationed at Tinker Air Force Base in 1965. Marg was a longtime librarian, first on base in Okinawa, Japan and later for the Metropolitan Library System in Oklahoma City, where she retired in the 1980’s. Marg was instrumental in creating and maintaining a library at her beloved church. She enjoyed traveling; and was an avid reader who loved her mysteries; she was a gardener, as well, and her roses were her favorite; and a dog lover. She had many dogs over the years and although she didn’t have one presently, any time she saw one she always had to stop and pet them. Marg was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Don and at his time of death, they had been married for 54 years. She is survived by her sons: Philip and wife, Sharon of Oklahoma City, OK and Dana and wife, Kathy of Pittstown, NJ. Also, five granddaughters: Elizabeth, Kathryn, Samantha, Amy, and Emily; one great-granddaughter, Macy. She also has two surviving brothers: Don and wife, Sonja Woods of Georgetown, IL and Jon Woods and wife, Barb of Carthage, NC; nephews: Mark Woods and Pat Englant, her church family and friends. Services were held Friday, April 11th, 2014 @ 10:00am at Midwest City Community Church of the Nazarene followed by interment at Arlington Memorial Cemetery.
