

Martha Statham Phelps was born on December 6, 1939, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She lived a life defined by kindness, service, and deep devotion to her family and community. Martha married Ira Gene Phelps in June of 1968. During those years, she enjoyed staying active and spent some time playing basketball in a women’s league, something she always enjoyed. She also loved sewing and arts and crafts, often using her creativity to make things for others.
In 1975, Martha joined the Oklahoma County Extension Club, where she remained a devoted member for 39 years. She served as an officer and volunteered countless hours giving back to the community. Through the club, she supported many outreach efforts, including BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse), making quilts for children, preparing bags for abused children placed in emergency shelters, and participating in many other charitable projects. She also served as a judge and volunteer for both the state and Pottawatomie County for more than 40 years.
Martha was known for her kind heart, loving nature, and willingness to help anyone in need. Her family and friends were the most important part of her life, and she cherished them all deeply.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Gene Phelps; her parents, Charles J. Statham and Clara Statham; and her siblings, Bill Williams, Clara Faye Lyons, Robert Statham, and Buddy Statham.
She is survived by her sister, Norma Knight; her daughter, Twyla Rogers (Mike) and their son Rey, Randall (Randy) Flowers, Grandchildren T.J. Daniels (Kevin) and their son Mason, Randy Flowers (Kristi) and their son’s Christopher and Grant. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Sandy Graff and her children Cullen and Amber, Carlotta Becktold and her children Scotty and Dixie, and Ginger Holsted and her children Clint and Chelsea, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Martha will be remembered for her compassion, generosity, and the love she shared with all who knew her.
A visitation will be held at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, located at 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141, on January 15, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral service will take place at the same venue on January 16, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery, located at 33500 45th St, McLoud, OK 74851, on January 16, 2026.
