Mary Francis Austin

Mary F. Austin of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on November 7, 2024. She was born in Anadarko, Oklahoma, on May 11, 1947, to parents David Andrew Garrett and Elvina Garrett (Nance). Mary graduated from Northeast High School and went on to marry the love of her life, David Austin, on June 1, 1967.

She loved listening to Elvis Presley and country music. Many know that her favorite color was blue.

A perfect day for her consists of spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies, as they always make her laugh. Most people would remember her as someone who loved her family and taught others the importance of loving and helping others. Mary was a member at Nicoma Park United Methodist Church.

Mary is survived by her husband David Austin, daughters Kim Jensen (Dan) of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Stacy Haden of Spencer, Oklahoma; brothers Charles Garrett (Frances) of Porum, Oklahoma; Robert Garrett (Gracie) of Kansas; Ricky Garrett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Teddy Garrett (Nancy) of Del City, Oklahoma; sister Thelma Garrett and daughter Ashley of Choctaw, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren, Kayla Dowdy (Tony), Kyle Swindell (Kristen), Samantha Mills (Hannah), Chase Haden (Gabrielle), Brooke Haden (Nickolas), Samantha Barnes, Casey Barnes, and 4 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Elvina Garrett; brother Roy Garrett; and sister Marie Hamby (Eddie).

A memorial service for Mary will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Victory Family Church - Shawnee, 2301 E Highland St., Shawnee, Oklahoma 74801.
