
Mary Ellen Fink, of Nichols Hills, went to live with our Lord on Saturday, February 9th, 2013. Molly, as she was known by many of her friends and relatives, was born in Norman, OK, on June 7th, 1935. She grew up in Oklahoma City and Nichols Hills and graduated from Bishop McGuinness High School. She then went on to the University of Oklahoma, where she majored in piano studies and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music. She was then awarded a scholarship to Julliard in New York City, where she received a diploma in Piano. Molly returned to Oklahoma from New York and earned a second Bachelor’s degree in Music Education before moving on to Wichita State University, where she achieved her Master’s Degree in Music.
After teaching music in other areas of the country, including Sitka, Alaska, Molly moved back to Oklahoma City and became a well-known piano teacher. For over thirty years, Molly taught piano to hundreds of Nichols Hills and Oklahoma City area residents.
Molly is preceded by her father, Joe Burleson, her mother, Honor Burleson, and her husband, Jerald R. Fink. She is survived by her cousins, Patty Ann Choyce of Houston, TX., John V. Hogan, Oklahoma City, Peggy Hogan-Rogers, Wichita Falls, TX., Terry Hogan, Lubbock, TX. , and Brian Hogan, Nichols Hills.
Molly will always be remembered for her high intellect, her extreme talent, her generous heart of gold, and her infectious giggle.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Ann’s Home, 9400 St. Ann Dr., Oklahoma City, 73162, on Wednesday, Feb. 13th, at 2:00 pm.
