Mary J Limber, 92, was born August 25, 1927 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to John and Sophia Limber. She passed away peacefully on March 1, 2020 following a brief battle with acute myeloid leukemia. Mary graduated from Central High School in 1945, attended the University of Oklahoma, and graduated from the Oklahoma College for Women in 1949.
Active in the Greek community, Mary was a lifelong member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, a devoted festival volunteer, and a loyal member of the Daughters of Penelope women’s group. She worked in the oil and gas industry for more than 40 years and was actively involved in the Desk and Derrick Club. In 1997, she assumed the helm of Warwick Tag Agency, a position she held for 20 years. Mary was also a dedicated election volunteer, faithfully working at her assigned precinct for decades.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, sister Helen Limber, brother George Limber and wife Artemis, and great-niece Madeline Limber. Mary is survived by her three nephews and their wives: John and Sally Limber, Jim and Lee Ann Limber, and Jason and Joyce Limber. She is also survived by her beloved great-nieces and nephews: Kailey and husband Matt Stephens, Carley, Korbyn, Bella, Cole, and Henry Limber. Mary leaves behind many extended family members and friends, whom she loved dearly. Mary was affectionately referred to as “Aunt Mary” by all who knew her. Ever-present, she was an enthusiastic supporter of her family, rarely missing any opportunity to attend games, performances, and important milestones for two generations. May her memory be eternal.
The family wishes to thank the Unity Square staff at Baptist Village Skilled Nursing Facility for their compassionate care and dedication.
