Mary P. Melton

Mary Patricia Donoghue Melton of Oklahoma City passed away on Monday, January 10, 2011 just after her 92nd birthday with her family by her side. Mary was born on January 7, 1919 in the small town of Carpenter, Oklahoma. Mary married Hobart Melton, of Oklahoma City in 1941.

Mary was a dedicated volunteer at St. Anthony’s Hospital for numerous years and subsequently became an employee of St. Anthony’s where she worked in the gift shop before retiring.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Hobart; her two son’s George Vincent Melton and John Gregory Melton; two step-sons, Bill Melton and Claude Melton; five brothers and one sister. Mary is survived by her sister, Veronica Lynn of Auburn, CA and brother, George Donoghue of Oklahoma City; her sons, David Patrick Melton and wife, Jan of Blanchard, OK and Joseph Marion Melton of Arcadia, OK. She is also survived by grandsons, Terry Melton and wife Jenni of Cashion, OK and William Melton of Arcadia, OK and two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Gracie Melton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, January 17, 2011 at St. Thomas More University Parish in Norman, Ok. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Ok.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 16, from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Guardian West Funeral Home, 5820 NW 41st, Oklahoma City, Ok.
