Mary was born on December 16, 1944, in Wetumka, Oklahoma, to Annie Thomas. She spent most of her school years attending Eufaula Boarding School, where she graduated in 1963.
In July of 1963, Mary married the love of her life, Washie Proctor, Sr. Together they shared many years of marriage, family, and devotion to one another.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a woman of strong faith and a devout Catholic. Known for her loving and kind nature, Mary found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially doing crossword puzzles, reading, and watching the birds, squirrels and other wildlife “critters” that would stop by daily.
With her love for sewing, Mary was employed with Collegiate Cap & Gown for over 20 years. Mary and her husband relocated from Oklahoma City to Prague, OK, where they spent their remaining years in retirement.
Mary is survived by her husband, Washie Proctor, Sr., of Prague, Oklahoma; her three children, Dominic Angelo and his wife, Bernice of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Washie Proctor, Jr., of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and Alicia Van Horn and her husband, Brian of Edmond, Oklahoma. She was a proud grandmother to three grandchildren: Sabrina and her husband, Tony Glasgow of Earlsboro, Oklahoma; Nancy Proctor of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Washie III of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Mary was fortunate and blessed to have known and cherished her two great-grandchildren, Ozzy and Grace. She had a wonderful great-grandson named Gunner, whom she unfortunately did not have the opportunity to get to know.
Those who knew Mary described her as loving and kind. She was deeply cherished, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
A graveside service for Mary will take place at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home at Sunny Lane Cemetery on Wednesday, February 1, 2026 at 11:00 AM.
