

Max Ray Ballard was born September 29, 1928 in Birdell, Arkansas as the son of George Washington Ballard and Mildred Helen Hufsteadler Ballard. He passed away on April 6, 2011 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Max served in the U. S. Army during Korea and was a longtime school teacher. He taught for 5 years in Coolidge, Kansas and for 27 years at Nicoma Park Elementary School. Max was an active member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Helen (Hufstedler) Ballard; one sister, Peggy Scott; and 1 brother, Jimmy Ballard. Survivors include his wife, Bennie (Graham) Ballard of the home; 1 son, Kevin Brent Ballard and wife Kelly of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two grandsons, Patrick Ryan and Alexander Pierce Ballard, both of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and 2 sisters, Marian Dunn of Redwood City, California; and Judy Wiley of Moore, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Eastside Church of Christ, Midwest City, Oklahoma with Mr. Dale Hartman officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
