An alum of Capitol Hill High School, Lisa was Sports Editor for the school newspaper, foreshadowing her eventual successful career in local media. On December 18, 1955, she married her loving husband, Earl Wayne Scott, beginning a partnership that would span an adventurous 66 years.

After owning a woman’s clothing boutique for many years, Lisa started working in radio advertising in 1984, which was a perfect fit for her given her love of music. She quickly became a force in the media industry and worked as General Sales Manager at KOMA and then General Manager of KYIS FM in Oklahoma City until 1994. She then worked as multiple editors for the Lake Eufaula Magazine and worked for New West Group in Oklahoma City.
Lisa’s number one passion was her family, spanning four generations, and a nuclear family who considered her their loving matriarch. She enjoyed sports of all kinds and was personally accomplished in golf, proudly achieving a hole in one and serving in leadership in the local Business Women’s Golf Association. She enjoyed fishing, tennis, snow skiing and pursued excellence in gardening and arts and crafts. She made beautiful handmade cards. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family at her lake house on Lake Eufaula.
She was a devout Christian and loved the Lord. She was proud to be an American and loved her country very much. Lisa’s love for life was infectious. She was a caretaker and loved people dearly, always thinking of others before herself. Anyone for whom she cooked or baked could rest confidently knowing that she loved them. Consequently, it was only natural that anyone who met Lisa also loved her. We will miss her exuberance and wit, but we will miss her most of all.
Rest in peace, Sweet Lisa.
Her family encourages donations to MHAUS (Malignant Hyperthermia Association of United States) or The American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
