Mildred Opal Hurst,Deceasded

Mildred was born on April 5, 1922 in Leasburg, MO to Rufus and Ruth (Pratt) Graddy. She attended school in Bourbon, MO and following her graduation she relocated to St. Louis where she was employed at the local store. In the early 1950’s she met Allie Hurst at a church prayer meeting and soon after the two were married. Mildred and Allie had three children and they resided in AZ and OK where Allie served as a pastor and evangelist. They settled in Oklahoma City where Mildred supported her husband as they pastored at a mission in inner city OKC as well as at Love of God Tabernacle in SW OKC. Mildred worked as an electronics assembler for Honeywell Electronics in AZ from the mid 1970’s until the mid 1980’s.

Mildred was a kind and generous woman who enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and cooking. Anyone who knew Mildred knew that her two priorities were her family and her faith. She loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She was very proud of the fact that she had four generations of family living under the same roof and caring for her in her later years. Mildred’s faith was the cornerstone of her life and she served the Lord faithfully for all of her life. She was an Elder and Sunday school teacher at Faith Center Fellowship where she attended for over three decades and she enjoyed having the opportunity to preach to the congregation when her health allowed.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Allie Hurst; her parents; a son Thomas Hurst; and 9 siblings. She is survived by her 2 children: Mildred “Ann” LeMaster and husband Steve and her son Terry Hurst and wife Deanna; 8 grandchildren: Sue, Stephanie, Cynthia and Jon LeMaster, Cody and Ayla Opal Hurst, as well as Terry Hurst Jr and Brandon Harrington; 2 great grandchildren: Amber and Zachary LeMaster; 4 siblings: Ed, Dean, and Ronald Graddy and Hazel Pennock. She was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other beloved family members.
