to Tommy Simeon Henderson and Grace Viola York. At the age of
seven, her family moved to New London, Texas where Molene excelled
in academics by graduating salutatorian of her high school class in 1954.
She earned an Associate of Science in Business Education degree from
Kilgore College in 1956 where she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa
honor society. She continued her education at Howard Payne College
in Brownwood, Texas where she graduated in 1958 with a Bachelor of
Science degree in Business. While attending Howard Payne, she met and
married George Lee on January 26, 1957, and they welcomed Michael in
April of 1958 and Karen in July of 1959.
After briefly living in Fort Worth where Molene worked as a gifted
secretary for the law firm of Cantey Hanger, she and George moved
to Oklahoma in 1965, and Molene continued her secretarial career for
Champlain Oil Company. After the birth of their third child Mark, she
took over as office manager and secretary for the family business George
Company, which started in 1975. She continued in this role until retirement.
They lived in Oklahoma for forty-eight years where Molene was
a longtime member of Southern Hills Baptist Church. Molene’s spiritual
gifts were lovingly shared with all through the Women’s Missionary
Union (WMU), Falls Creek Baptist Camp, the bereavement committee,
and the church choir. She was an incredible mother who taught her children
to know and love the Lord Jesus Christ.
She is preceded by her brother Warren Henderson (2000) and is survived
by her husband of sixty-three years George Lee, her sister Janell Henderson
Gill of Lindale, her brother Malcolm Henderson of Frisco, and her
three children: Michael Lee in Lancaster, Karen Compere in Plano, and
Mark Lee in Edmond. She was blessed with four grandchildren: Ryan
Compere, Leeanne Compere Yopp, Madison Lee, Kaden Lee, and three
great grandchildren: Josiah Yopp, Samuel Yopp, and Adeline Compere.
