Nancy Sue Grindstaff (née Tunnell) went to her heavenly home on Friday, March 18, 2022. There, she was reunited with her husband, Bob Grindstaff. Nancy is survived by her son, Rob Grindstaff; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Grindstaff; granddaughter, Megan Grindstaff; brother, Tom Tunnell; sister-in-law, Diana Tunnell; sister-in-law, Martha Roberts; beloved nieces, Tyler, Brook, Gabi, Sally, Carolyn, and Mary; and numerous other family members and friends who loved her dearly.
Nancy lived a long life, defined by her endless love and generosity. She was born to Bert and Viola Tunnell in Kansas City, Missouri on January 14, 1940. She graduated from Northwest Classen High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Bob, on February 5, 1958. Bob, Nancy, and Rob enjoyed countless weekends at Lake Texoma with their treasured “lake friends.” Nancy enjoyed a career with Putnam City School District, where she shared her love of reading with students in the library. Upon retirement, Nancy remained busy, continuing to serve others as a therapy dog handler. She was active in her church and a member of Bible Study Fellowship. In her free time, Nancy was devoted to her beloved pet poodles and her dear family. The love she showed them is the legacy she leaves on earth forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in Nancy’s name to OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center or The Alliance of Therapy Dogs.
