Norma Jean Lyles

"Norma Jean Lyles passed away peacefully on August 21st 2024 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was surrounded by her family as she met the Lord and joined her loving Husband on their 69th wedding anniversary.

Norma was the second oldest of 7 children. She grew up in Oklahoma City where she met the love of her life Jerry. They were married on August 21st 1955 after she turned 16. The two settled down in Newalla, Oklahoma, raised two kids Gena and Jerry Lee Jr. They started their business; Lyles Sign Contractors and worked with well known companies such as Braum's Ice Cream & Dairy and Walmart Stores. Following Jerry's Death in 2014, Norma moved to Oklahoma City to be closer to her surviving child Gena and her family.

Norma was one of the handiest, and most creative women anyone had ever met. People were amazed to see her work, and surprised that it was done solely by her. Knocking down walls, building and bricking a fireplace from scratch or helping her family complete projects full of endless imagination, she always had a plan for everything.

Norma loved to shop, summers full of garage sales and thrifting, she loved to hunt for a bargain. We looked forward to our frequent shopping trips in Texas because “they may have something different”. When it came to finding something she loved, she had to have it in every color.

Before her Parkinson’s progressed she had finished remodeling her home which turned out beautiful.

Norma was the most loving mother, Granny, best friend and teacher to her children and grandchildren."

"Norma is preceded in death by her parents Lela and David Fishburn, loving husband Jerry Lee Lyles, son Jerry Lee Lyles Jr. Grandson Ricky Lyles, brothers; Philip and Jimmy Dale Fishburn. She is survived by her sisters; Sandra Kay Hock and Joy. Brothers; Jerry Don and Larry Fishburn. Daughter and son-in-law; Gena and Tony White. Grandchildren; Haylee and Seth Camper, Katie White, Jacob White, Shawna Nunziato, Jesse, Richard and Emilie Lyles. Her Great Grandchildren Paislee Jean Camper, Stevie White, Miley Marie, Annalee Lyles, Richard Lee Lyles Jr., Merrick Merchand, Kayla, Kalee, and Kailee Lyles. Her best friend Melinda McLane along with many loving nieces, nephews, friends and family"
