Norma Lee (Farley) Stoabs, 95, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on April 25, 2026. Born on April 16, 1931, in Prague, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of James Hiram and Mary Berry "Mamie" (Pickett) Farley.
Norma grew up in Prague, where she completed her high school education. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from OSU and later achieved a master’s degree in teaching from the UCO. In the early 1950s, she married the love of her life, Charles Wendall Stoabs. After Wendall completed his service as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force, the couple settled in OKC. There, they built a wonderful life together and raised their three children: Janice, Pris, and Dusty. For more than 40 years, the family made their home on N. University Avenue.
Norma dedicated her professional life to education, teaching 5th grade for Oklahoma City Public Schools until her retirement. Outside the classroom, she was known as a loving mother and grandmother, and one of the most caring, generous people one could ever hope to meet. Blessed with good health her entire life, Norma loved spending time visiting her brothers and sisters. At home, she had a fondness for cats and dogs and enjoyed redecorating, often incorporating her favorite color, yellow.
Her strong faith in Jesus as her Savior and Lord was the cornerstone of her life. She was a lifelong, active member of the United Methodist Church, and along with Wendall, belonged to Lakeside United Methodist.
Norma is preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly seven decades, Charles Wendall Stoabs, who passed away in 2020; her daughters, Priscilla Barrett, who passed away in 2009, and Janice Standage-Wade, who passed away in 2016; her parents; her stepmother, Alice Farley; her sisters, Mary Taylor and Velda Bailey; her brothers, Franklin Farley and James Farley; and her half-sisters, Flora James and Cozette Teal.
She is survived by her son, Charles "Dusty" Stoabs, and his wife, Laura, of Oklahoma City. Her beautiful legacy also lives on through her 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations can be made to Skyline Urban Ministry.
A Graveside Service will be held at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, 7500 W Britton Rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73132, US, on May 2, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
