

Nowana Joette Pruitt, 84 year-old resident of Midwest City, OK, passed away June 26, 2018 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Born July 1, 1933 in Seminole, OK, she was the daughter of Orville Austin and Othello Inez (Moore) Austin. Nowana was a longtime employee at Tinker AFB. She loved shopping, watching grandchildren’s sporting events, traveling to see her children in Virginia Beach, VA and Aurora, CO, family reunions at Lake Texoma, collecting elephants and angels, attending First Baptist Church of Midwest City, OK, and the color cobalt blue. Preceding her in death were her parents, her ex-husband, Major James Pruitt, and her grandson Jason Meade. Survivors include her children, Carroll Meade and her husband Dwight, Captain Michael Pruitt and his wife Debra, grandchildren, Travis Pruitt, Shannon Pruitt, Letta Hinton, great-grandchildren, Lane Thomas, great-great-grandchildren, Haley Thomas, Brooklyn Thomas, and Remy Thomas, sibling, Gayle Cochran, niece, Jeri and her husband Fred Schantz, nephew, Tim and his wife Kerri Harris, and numerous other family members. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2018 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel, 8805 NE 23rd St., Oklahoma City, OK with Dr. Mike Tignor officiating.
