Patricia Eloise Bowers Edwards passed away in her home on May 10, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Patricia was born in Oklahoma City on July 25, 1940, the only child of Lura Eloise Cooper and Robert Stanley Bowers. She grew up in Oklahoma City, graduating from Harding High. In 1959 she welcomed her son, Drew.
Patricia enjoyed a life surrounded by beautiful people and beautiful things, traveling around the world, and her ever-present standard poodles. Every new friend and experience resulted in fabulous stories that Patricia told so well. Her greatest joy was her son, Drew, and Patricia ensured that all his needs were met after he suffered an injury as a young adult. Holiday gatherings with family were beautiful affairs, and Christmas always promised a massive Christmas tree in the living room. There was always room at the bar when friends dropped by for a glass of wine.
Patricia was fond of her father as only a daughter could be. When she was stricken by polio as a little girl, “daddy” would massage her legs with hot towels to prevent the debilitating effects. She also had a special love for her grandparents, Eloise & Tom Cooper, and the times she spent at the dairy farm in Ardmore. After her grandmother's death, Patricia wrote a memoir, “Shadows and Sunshine,” and presented copies to family members. Patricia’s aunt, Liz Kilpatrick, was almost like a sister, and they spent countless hours together, on trips, in person and on the telephone.
Patricia was predeceased by her parents, Eloise & Bob Bowers, son Drew Bowers, and her aunt Mary Elizabeth Cooper Kilpatrick. Survivors include daughter Catherine Hefner, Catherine’s daughters Alexandra Urice and Lily Urice; cousins Elise Kilpatrick Kuck and Tom Kilpatrick; and poodle CeCe. Special thanks go to Rick Moses who loyally served Patricia for more than 40 years, and a team of caregivers including William Hoffman, Zach Haugh, Dustin Simmons, Gloria Hernandez, and Layla Jennene.
A private service was held at Rose Hill Burial Park in the Abbey Mausoleum Chapel.
