Patsy Irene Downing lived a life filled with love, laughter, creativity, and friendship. Born on April 25, 1940, Patsy touched the lives of countless people through her kindness, warm spirit, and unforgettable smile.
Patsy found beauty in the simple things in life. She loved butterflies, sunflowers, and flowers of every kind, often finding joy in nature’s colorful displays. She had a passion for photography and enjoyed capturing special moments and memories through her camera lens. Creative by nature, she spent many hours crafting and crocheting beautiful items that reflected her talent and love for handmade treasures.
Never one to shy away from hard work, Patsy even spent time working as a carpenter, demonstrating her determination, independence, and willingness to take on new challenges. She was a woman of many talents and interests, always finding ways to stay busy and express her creativity.
More than anything, Patsy loved people. Her beautiful smile could light up a room, and she had a gift for making friends wherever she went. She was loved by so many and enjoyed being surrounded by others. Whether sharing stories, catching up on the latest news, or sitting among her friends at the apartments as one of the beloved “hens,”. Patsy was happiest when she was part of the conversation and she would buzz around with her friends like bees with ‘Honey’. She loved knowing what was going on and made life more colorful and entertaining for everyone around her.
Patsy leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, laughter, creativity, and cherished memories. Her family and friends will forever remember her warm heart, her joyful spirit, orneriness, and the countless smiles she shared throughout her life. She was survived by her sister, Louise Oden; her four children, Tamara Downing, Michael Downing, Danielle Woods, and Michaela Sample; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she gave will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
