Paul Karountzos passed away at the age of 98 on January 4, 2022. He was born June 20, 1923 in Vlaherna, Arcadia, Greece to Theodoros and Georgia Karountzos. He was one of nine siblings. He proudly served in the Greek military from 1950 to 1952. He married his childhood sweetheart and love of his life, Loula Papahronis in 1953. They immigrated to the United States in 1956. In 1958 he became co-owner of Cadet Cafeteria in downtown Oklahoma City and worked there until his retirement in 1991. After his retirement he stayed busy managing his commercial properties. He was a 65 year member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church , where he served on the board several times. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Loula, daughter Georgia Londos (George), daughter Angela Fokas (James), grandchildren Tommy Londos (Georgia), Paul Londos, Teddi Fokas, Evi Fokas and great grandson Geo Londos.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church of Oklahoma City or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
