

Born on June 30, 1925 in Purcell, Oklahoma to Pink and Mamie Townsend, Pauline graduated from Washington High School. When she was in high school, a new Baptist minister, W.E. Henson and family moved to Washington to serve their family’s church. There were several children in the family, but one handsome brother, Howard, particularly caught Pauline’s attention and they were married on August 9, 1942. As a lifelong Baptist, Pauline attended Britton Baptist Church, Village Baptist Church and for the last several years, she was a proud member of Quail Springs Baptist Church. Pauline and Wilson lived almost all of their 71 years of married life in Oklahoma City. Pauline also was a member of the Eastern Star, Purcell, Oklahoma. After a few years in retail, Pauline became the Administrative Assistant at the Wise Remembrance Company, where she learned much about the advertising and printing business. Pauline used this knowledge to help her husband found their own business, Howard Henson & Associates, and they enjoyed much success in their endeavor.
Pauline especially loved the home she and Howard built in Red River, New Mexico, spending many wonderful vacations there. Pauline had a flair for decorating and entertaining and loved to plan for a special event for months, making sure every detail had been taken care of. Her family and friends will always remember her wonderful cooking, her business acumen, her gardening and her love of friends and family with whom she always kept in touch. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents Pink and Mamie Townsend, Washington, Oklahoma. Pauline is survived by her husband, Howard, of the home, son Larry Henson and his wife, Judy, two grandchildren, Jennifer Carsten and husband, Jamie, Christopher Henson and wife, Cassie, and five great- grandchildren, Zachary Henson, Ridley Carsten and Kellan Carsten, James Henson and Nicholas Henson, all of Oklahoma City, her brother Charles Ray Townsend and wife, Susan, nephew Zachary and his family of Yukon, Oklahoma and nieces, Marla and Ron Dahl of OKC and Kerry and Jim Beard of Yukon and their families.
Visitation will be at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper on Saturday & Sunday, June 15 & 16, 2013 from 8 am to 8 pm. The funeral will at Quail Springs Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. on June 17th with burial following at Washington Cemetery.
