On July 23, 2011, Pearla Mae Qualls Smoot passed from this life into the glory of the Lord's heaven. In life Pearla was a beautiful person inside and out. She will be missed terribly by her family and friends because of her laughter and her spoken words. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Glenn Wilson Smoot; son, Russell Carter and his wife, Sue; daughters, Glenda Oldham and Debbie Woska and her husband, Dan; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with interment following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
