She lived a life filled with laughter and faith, tenderly loving her family and all of God’s beautiful creation. Heaven is her sweet new home! A small-town girl from Tuckerman, Arkansas, Peggy graduated with bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Arkansas. She achieved professional recognition and obtained many distinctions and honors throughout her 28 year career as Chief Dietitian and Faculty for OUHSC. Known for her compassion, care and incredible knowledge in the field of nutrition,
Peggy was a scholar, author, teacher and leader in the field. A woman of prayer, devoted and beloved momma, sweet grandma and precious wife, she survived by her husband of 65 years Jewell Dean Garrison and their 3 children and in-laws Tanya (Eric) Chiariello, Dayna Slater and Trent (Lia) Garrison, 9 grandchildren Taylor Chiariello, Haylee Chiariello, Clayton Chiariello, Zane-Micah Chiariello, Brayden Slater, Nathan Slater, Trey Slater, Kalleigh Garrison, Parker Garrison and 1 great-grandchild Grayson Chiariello.
Christian services will be held Monday, Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. and burial service at 2 p.m. at Ft. Sill Military Cemetery in Elgin.
