Peggy June Hays, 90, passed away peacefully Friday, January 2, 2015, following a lengthy illness. She was a preacher's kid, being born to the Reverend Earl McAllister and Lola McAllister in El Dorado, Arkansas, on July 6, 1924. After graduating from Draughon Business School in Fort Worth, she pursued a career in music publishing and formed Dalworth Publishing Company, where she published over 200 religious songs. Peggy was a published author of Children`s Short Stories (Harcourt Brace) and Children's poetry (Highlight Magazine). As a faithful Christian and longtime member of the Britton Baptist and Village Baptist Church, she served for 25 years as a Sunday school teacher and children's choir director. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Lola; her husband, Cecil; as well as her son, Thomas, who was killed in Vietnam. She leaves behind cherished memories with her loving son, Patrick; as well as a host of loving friends. Funeral Services to remember and celebrate her life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015, at the Village Baptist Church, 10600 N. May Avenue, followed by an Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, 6001 N.W. Grand Boulevard, Oklahoma City
