Peter Alden Lang, age 84, of Choctaw, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, September 5th, 2026, peacefully at home. Peter was born on March 14, 1942, in Chickasha, Oklahoma to his parents Mandeville and Audrey Lang.
When Peter was about 10, he made a profession of faith in Jesus and Joined the church. In the summer when he was young, his sister Penelope (Peny) and him walked to Vacation Bible School where he would learn many Bible verses and the names of the books of the Bible. When he was older, he took piano lessons in Oklahoma City for about a year. He later was in the school band at Jarman Jr High where he played the clarinet. He stopped going to school in 12th grade after he met his first wife Kathy to join the Air Force so he could provide for his family. He later received a GED diploma. Peter attended many schools and classes while in the Air Force and had his pilot’s license. After the Air Force he worked at Tinker Air force Base as Chief Firefighter. Peter had three children with Kathy, Timothy, Kelly, and Twila, later divorcing. Years later, he moved to Michigan, working at an Air Force Base there while going to a private Bible college where he earned an associate’s degree in Bible and ministry while still working. Around 1988 he met the love of his life, Carolyn, who had four daughters, which he cared for as his own. Carolyn had a dry cleaner’s business and after retirement at Tinker, he worked in the cleaners with her. After closing the cleaners down and both retiring, some of his happiest moments were spent simply driving down back roads viewing the scenery with Carolyn by his side. He also enjoyed watching OU football, racing pigeons, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Above all, Peter treasured his family, and the memories they created together will be carried in their hearts forever.
Peter is survived by his sister Penelope (Peny) & husband Don Brown, children, son Kelly & wife Debbie Lang, son Tim Lang and daughter Twila & husband Brad Cartmill, stepdaughters Tammy, and Tina & husband Randy, nieces Tania and Audrey Michelle (Mickie), his grandchildren, Audrey, Jeremy, Melina, Petina, Sherry, Emilie, Bryce, Lindsie, Brittany, David, Aaron, Kallie, Connor, Stefanie, Jake, and Josh, and many great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Carolyn, his parents Audrey and Mandeville, his daughters Brenda, and Cristy, and his grandson Zachary. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a hardworking man who deeply loved his family and life. His presence will be greatly missed but his love and memories he shared will remain with his family forever. A viewing will be held at Bill Eisenhour in Midwest City on Wednesday, September 9th, from 4:00 until 8:00pm. The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 10th, at 2:00pm.
