Our sweet 98 year old daddy, Peter “Pete” Meziere passed away 6/25/2020 due to injuries from a serious fall. He fought so valiantly to recover but this time it was not to be. Peter was born in the small town of Campti LA to Henry and Ernestine Meziere. He was a farmer’s son, raised by his mother and along with his brother David due to the early death of his father. Daddy said life was hard working on the farm but it instilled values that has lasted a lifetime. His Catholic faith and belief in Jesus carried him through both the best and worst of days. Daddy moved to OKC before he was 20 by selling a cow and calf for $20. He was a “cooper” at Armour Meat Packing Co making slack barrels for many years till they closed then went on to MassTrans as a city bus driver until he retired. Being 98 he had countless stories he regaled us with from his life adventures and was the best domino player around! Peter is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, his wife Joy, daughter, Dianna Middlebrook and grandson Pete Jr. He is survived by step-son Jimmie Jeffreys and wife Ann, son-in-law Donnie Middlebrook, daughter DeLana Meziere, daughter Vicki Stewart and husband John, son Petie Meziere, son Glenn Meziere and wife Ruby, daughter Jeanna Daniel and husband Lee. His grandchildren, the greats and great-greats meant the world to him! He will be so sorely missed. Peter was a champion of life, working hard and to the fullest. We will miss you forever and always daddy, till we see you again. Visitation will be Sunday at Advantage Funeral Home 7720 S Penn OKC from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm; Catholic Mass will be Monday 6/29/20 at 11:00 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (mask required) 1100 N Sara RD Mustang OK with burial following at Sunset Memorial Park in Norman OK.

Today we said goodbye to my dear daddy.
My life changed in an instant, what a huge hole it left in my heart. Daddy it was my honor to take care of you the last six years. You tried so hard and worked so hard to stay strong. I will always have a piece of your heart etched in mine.

I thank all of the friends and family for your kind words and prayers and beautiful plants and flowers for him since his accident and for his passing. He is home.

I love you daddy, forever and always…

So sorrow to hear of the loss of your dad.
He worked with my husband Allen Bohde when it was Masstrans.
Allen always told me what a great person he was and how he loved his children.
Last time I saw your dad he attended Allen’s
funeral in 2006.
My sincere prayers are with each of you.

My godfather and close family friend Peter L Meziere passed away Thursday evening at the young age of 98-years-old. He was a giant of a man because he not only talked the talk of being a Christian man that was humble, loving, caring, kind, faithful and honorable, but he walked the walk. He wasn't a priest and he wasn't perfect but in my eyes he was a saint. He always had a way of making those around him smile and feel good about themselves. In a simple game of dominoes he'd having you laughing and smiling even if you were losing to him. He didn't force his faith in God on you but you could tell he was a man of God just by spending time with him. He lived his faith by his actions of loving and caring about those who were ever privileged enough to be near him. He attended church every Sunday all his adult life and kept going to church as much as he could towards the end of his precious life. "Mr. Pete", as we all affectionately called him because you know you're respected when someone puts a "Mr." in front of your name when they talk to you- Mr. Pete was deeply respected and loved, Mr. Pete I know you are home now where you belong with the angels and with other family and friends that had passed before you. We've lost a good man, a giant of a man here on this earth and heaven has gained yet another saint and giant of a man who deserves to walk those precious streets of gold without any more pain or discomfort in his new heavenly body. You WILL be missed Mr. Pete! We ALL love you and miss you! Sincerely, TW Tommy Hay

One of my favorite patients ever. Made me smile every time I saw him. A wonderful and sweet gentleman . . Never really complained despite many reasons to do so over the years.
He and and the family are in my prayers.

Mr Pete was such a wonderful man. He was always thinking of others. His smile was contagious. I remember how he worked so hard at Immaculate Conception Catholie Church. He was there at every event. We all became
like family.

Pete was always so sweet to me when we would come visit him and Joy (Uncle Jimmy's Mom) when I was living with my Aunt Ann and Uncle Jimmy. Such a loss for us left on Earth still, but what a angel Heaven has gained. Love and prayers...❤
