Regalado Rosario was born on December 17, 1939 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico to Regalado Rosario Sr and Anastasia Marie (Baez) Rosario. He came to the U.S. at age four and lived in a Lutheran orphanage in New York, NY. In the late 1950’s, Rick came to OK to attend his brother Louie’s wedding. While here, he met the love of his life Gloria Mae Brewington and the two were married September 23, 1961. Rick spent the majority of his life as a member of the Roofer’s Union. During his 45 year career he owned Oklahoma Roofing, Allstar Roofing, Atlas Roofing, and his most recent venture Enterprise Roofing, which he co-owned with his children. He had quite a hand in shaping the OKC metro skyline while roofing Crossroads Mall, Mathis Bro’s Furniture, the Veterans Administration, as well as numerous Walmart’s, Autozone’s Walgreens, and other businesses before his retirement in 2007.

Retirement allowed Rick free time to pursue what he loved: riding his Harley, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his soulmate Gloria before her passing in 2017. Rick was a man of strong faith and conviction. He was a longtime member of Family Worship Center where he served as a deacon and assisted with their bus ministry. Giving back to his community was also a big part of Rick’s life. He was a member of the Mark Twain Lion’s Club, but much of his time was spent investing in the kids and young people in his neighborhood. Rick did this by coaching baseball, basketball, football, he bestowed the importance of hard work and education . Rick targeted the young people who were headed down the wrong path he seen a bit of himself in each one of them and showed them a better way through his acceptance and unconditional love.

Rick was never happier than when he was surrounded by his family and he cherished their many hunting and fishing trips. Rick was a loving husband, protective father, dedicated follower of Christ, a proud poppie, and a trusted friend. He will be missed by all those whose life he touched.

It hard to pick just one memory of my Uncle Rick, because there were so, so many! I remember him coaching my football team and baseball team. I remember him teaching me how to lay shingles and swing a mop on a hot roof. I remember him praying at the family dinner table at his old house in Mullagan Flats, and thinking to myself, “this is how a normal family lives.” I remember him telling me story after story about our family. He told me how they came from Puerto Rico, the orphanage in New York, and how he and Ralph double dated with my mom and Gloria when they moved here from New York. Halfway through the date he said that they decided they like the others date more and switched girls. Gloria and Rick were together every since. He taught me life lesson after life lesson. I can’t for the life of me think of one bad memory of him. I loved him like a father and I’m gonna miss him so much!
