Richard Ray “Dick” Bailey, age 93, passed away October 23, 2026. He was born February 1, 1933, in Oklahoma City to Robert and Mildred Bailey. He graduated from Classen High School in 1950. Dick graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1954, and after serving in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1955–56, he returned to the University of Oklahoma and graduated from law school in 1958. He practiced law in Oklahoma City throughout his career and was admitted to practice in all Oklahoma state and U.S. district and appellate courts.
He is survived by his children, daughter Lesli Bailey Peterson (Todd Kiner), and son Rick Bailey; his grandchildren, Nick Peterson (Sydney) and Matt Peterson (Alyssa), and Paige Bailey Coury (David) and Peyton Bailey; his great-grandchildren Scottie Peterson and Callahan Coury; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; his brother, Robert; and his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on October 30, 2026, at Rose Hill Burial Park, 6001 Northwest Grand Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73118. The graveside will be officiated by Kent Risley, with a special military honors presentation by the United States Army.
