Rick was born in Oklahoma City in 1952. He is the beloved son of Gene and Dortha Geren. Rick’s mother, Reba Geren, died in 2001. He leaves his adored children, Elizabeth Geren and Adam Rainbolt, and Adam’s wife Whitney. Rick was the funniest most entertaining guy we knew. He was thoughtful and deeply generous to friends and family, never asking anything in return. Rick was a wonderful father, son, brother, friend, and uncle, who showered us all with love, gifts and his special spirit. He leaves his sister ReJeania Steiner and her husband Tom, niece Amy Steiner, nephews Geren and Chris Steiner, Geren’s wife Stacey and their children Jackson and Nathan and Chris’ wife Katy. Rick graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Letters from the Plan II Honors Program. An ever creative and visionary businessman, Rick succeeded in many astonishing commercial endeavors. Best though, was that Rick accepted success or failure with equal grace. He was proud of his civic work and in particular his long standing relationship and work with Ballet Oklahoma. Recently he acquired a seaside ranch in Costa Rica. There he felt free and happy riding his horse and eating fruits from his trees. He now rests, at peace, holding our hearts and our love. A viewing will be available for interested parties at Hahn-Cook this Thursday with opportunity to speak with the family from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be at the Hahn-Cook Chapel this Friday at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to A Chance to Change Foundation.
